UML dispute: Madhav Nepal and Bhim Rawal suspended

CPN- has suspended senior party leader Madhav Kumar and vice-chairman from the party for six months, a press adviser to Prime Minister told the BBC.

Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli informed the two leaders about the action in a letter.

Surya Thapa, a press adviser to Prime Minister Oli, said: “They were asked for an explanation.

He added, “Action has been taken as there is no room for improvement. He has been suspended from party membership for six months.”c

According to a letter made public that action has been taken against the senior leader Nepal, it is mentioned that the action has been taken to give him a chance.

Earlier, when the CPN (UML) and the UCPN (Maoist) were embroiled in an internal dispute, Chairman Prachanda and the Nepal faction had removed Prime Minister Oli from the post.
